One of the best things about the arrival of the Obamas in DC, is the fact that they have opened up the White House to the DC community. This really kicked off with the $25 Neighborhood Ball. Since then, the first couple welcomed local school children to the WH with activities such as calling astronauts, planting the white house garden, and celebrating African American History Month. But what makes the Obama’s really cool is that they do not feel restricted by the White House gates, have ventured out, and are getting to be regulars in the DC community. Check out these highlights:
